Indian Bullet Train Update: Route Map Released

Indian Bullet Train: India’s first high-speed rail project, the Mumbai–Ahmedabad bullet train, continues to make steady progress toward completion. Authorities plan to build 12 stations along the 508-kilometer route, which will pass through Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Notably, officials aim to make the train operational in India by 2026, while trial runs have already begun in Japan. Let’s take a closer look at the route map and station list for this landmark project.


Complete Stations of Indian Bullet Train:
1. Mumbai (Bandra Kurla Complex): Corridor begins.
2. Thane: The proposed station is close to Dombivli East in Thane.
3. Virar: This will be Maharashtra’s third station, and this is in the Palghar district.
4. Boisar: This station is going to connect Boisar’s industrial regions.
5. Vapi: This is going to be Gujarat’s first station.
6. Bilimora: This station will encourage travel within the region.
7. Surat: One of the bullet train’s main stations will be Surat, a significant business hub in Gujarat.
8. Bharuch: This station will aid in the growth of industry and is located on the banks of the Narmada River.
9. Vadodara: This station is the centre of Gujarat’s culture and education.
10. Anand/Nadiad: This station will cater to the dairy and agricultural sectors.
11. Ahmedabad: The bullet train station would be close to Gujarat’s economic center.
12. Sabarmati: This will be the corridor’s last station. Which further connects Ahmedabad Metro.

The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor spans roughly 508 kilometers, linking key industrial and metropolitan hubs across Gujarat and Maharashtra. The route passes through Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati in Gujarat, before continuing through Mumbai (BKC), Thane, Virar, and Boisar in Maharashtra. Engineers have divided the corridor into two segments: approximately 156 kilometers in Maharashtra and 348 kilometers in Gujarat. As one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure projects, the MAHSR corridor also features complex engineering elements, including five kilometers of mountain tunnels, a seven-kilometer sea tunnel, and 21 kilometers of underground sections.
