Indian Man Arrested: After reportedly choking a fellow traveler on a Frontier Airlines aircraft from Philadelphia to Miami, a 21-year-old man of Indian descent has been placed under arrest in the United States.

The defendant, a Newark native named Ishaan Sharma, was arrested upon arrival on June 30 and is accused of violence. A video of Sharma and another traveler, Keanu Evans, fighting physically during the flight has gone viral.

What Happened:

According to the media sources, Evans stated that there was no provocation at all. He said that as he was getting back to his seat, Sharma assaulted him and abruptly grabbed his neck. “He was laughing darkly and saying, ‘Ha ha ha ha ha.'” “And he was saying things like, ‘You you little mortal man, you will die if you challenge me,'” he told the publication.

Evans, who was seated a row ahead, reported the behavior to the flight attendants and was told to hit the help button if things got out of hand. The situation rapidly deteriorated once he did so in response to additional threats.

We’re looking at each other with intense anger, forehead to forehead, when he suddenly catches me by the throat and begins choking me. Evans continued, “At that moment… all I can do is just defend myself,” referring to the confined area and growing anxiety.

Sharma Says He Was Engaged in Meditation

Sharma’s attorney presented an alternative account of what happened in court, speculating that the altercation might have been the result of a miscommunication. “My customer was meditating and belongs to a religion. A local news site quoted the lawyer as saying, “Unfortunately, the passenger behind him did not like that.”

Additional information regarding the charges and Sharma’s legal status has not yet been made public by the authorities.
