IndiGo Signs Deals to Boost Flights to UK, US, and Europe

IndiGo Flights: IndiGo, India’s largest airline operator, announced on Sunday, June 1, 2025, that it has signed agreements with Virgin Atlantic, Delta Air Lines, and Air France-KLM to expand its long-haul flight offerings. The low-cost carrier plans to extend its services to North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom by leveraging Virgin Atlantic’s UK and transatlantic routes, Air France-KLM’s strong presence in Europe and North America, and Delta’s extensive North American network.

“We are especially eager to connect with our partner networks and begin our long-haul expansion this summer to improve access to North America and Europe,” said IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers in an official statement. “This strategic partnership creates a strong combined offering through extensive intercontinental connectivity, a seamless travel experience, and enhanced loyalty value.”

Indigo connections:

Having partnered with Air France-KLM since 2022, IndiGo has now welcomed Delta Air into the alliance through this new agreement. Once all regulatory approvals are completed, IndiGo will allow its customers to book connecting flights on select international carriers directly through its website, streamlining the booking process.

This partnership will give IndiGo passengers access to Virgin Atlantic flights from Manchester to the United States, Delta and KLM flights from Amsterdam to destinations in the U.S. and Canada, and KLM flights from Amsterdam to 30 cities across Europe. According to the official release, Air France-KLM will begin operating IndiGo flights to 24 international destinations from Hyderabad after the new route launches in September 2025.

Delta Airlines Update:

The announcement stated that Delta Air plans to resume operations between Atlanta and Delhi, pending government and regulatory approvals. The airlines will announce specific service dates at a later time. In their joint press release, the airlines said the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets the foundation for deeper bilateral and multilateral collaboration. It outlines plans for commercial cooperation across network planning, loyalty programs, cargo services, and sales.

IndiGo also confirmed that it has placed an order for 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with the option to expand to 70. Additionally, the airline plans to “damp-lease” six Boeing 787 aircraft later in 2025. According to the official statement, these fleet additions will support IndiGo’s long-haul expansion and enable broader and more integrated partnerships with Virgin Atlantic, Delta, and Air France-KLM.
