Indo-Pak War: Delhi to Install 40 Air Sirens With 5-km Range

Indo-Pak War: Amid two waves of drone and missile attacks from the other side of the border and rising tensions between India and Pakistan, air raid sirens were blasted in the nation’s capital on Friday during a simulated exercise The Delhi government warned citizens not to panic in a statement prior to the exercise, stating that the Directorate of Civil Defence will be testing Air Raid Sirens that were erected at the Public Works Department Headquarters in ITO.


Siren Testing, Public Urged to Stay Calm

“The testing is scheduled to start at 3 PM and last for 15 to 20 minutes. The statement read, “Therefore, it is requested that sufficient publicity be made through electronic and social media so that the general public is advised to stay calm and not panic during the said exercise.”


Additionally, G Sudhakar, the District Magistrate (Central), advised everyone to maintain composure and not panic when they hear the sirens. At least two sirens were sounded when the drill started at 3 p.m. According to officials, 40 of these sirens, each covering a 5-kilometer radius, will be placed throughout the nation’s capital.

Attack by Pakistan

Pakistan fired a barrage of missiles and drones at Indian military locations on Thursday, including Jammu and Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir and Pathankot in Punjab, for the second day in a row. Drones were intercepted above Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and at least eight missiles were fired at different locations in Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani attack was thwarted when all of the drones and missiles were intercepted and shot down. Several cities, including Amritsar, Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and Jaisalmer, also imposed blackouts.
