How should one respond to a red alert?
According to the Chandigarh district government, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released instructions for when a red alert siren should be sounded. This is what you ought to do:
1. Turn off all electrical appliances, fans, and lights within and outside your house.
2. To stop any light from escaping, close the windows and drapes.
3. Turn off automated lighting systems beforehand.
4. Avoid using flashlights, cell phones, and other light-emitting gadgets in public places.
