BJP MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut deletes a trending social media post in which she called former American President Donald Trump an alpha male and drew parallels with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The post was removed after BJP National President JP Nadda himself asked her to remove it.
Kangana Ranaut’s since-deleted tweet was a response to Trump’s comment about Apple’s production plans in India. Trump had apparently told Apple CEO Tim Cook against setting up more production in India due to high tariffs and urging the company to look at U.S. manufacturing instead.
Kangana replied to Trump’s statement in writing:
“What is the reason behind this loss of affection? He is an American president, but the world’s favorite leader is the Indian Prime Minister. Trump’s second term or the Indian Prime Minister’s third term. Certainly, Trump is an alpha male, but our PM is ‘sab alpha male ka baap.’ What do you think? Is it personal jealousy or diplomatic insecurity?”
BJP’s Intervention
Within minutes of posting, Kangana had a call from BJP President JP Nadda, who suggested that she withdraw the tweet. Sheeding to his advice, she took the post off X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
In her subsequent statement, Kangana had expressed remorse over having expressed her personal view on the issue:
“National president Shri @JPNadda ji respected called and requested me to remove the tweet that I had posted about Trump advising Apple CEO Tim Cook against manufacturing in India. I wish I had not tweeted that highly personal opinion of mine. Following his request, I promptly deleted it from Instagram as well.”
Public Reaction
Kangana’s tweet was soon in the spotlight, with her fans appreciating her patriotic attitude, whereas critics called her out for causing unnecessary diplomatic tension. Screenshots of the now-deleted tweet were still being shared on the internet, allowing debates regarding political commentary by public figures to rage on.
“I don’t want you building in India. You can build in India if you want to take care of India, but India is one of the highest tariff countries in the world.”
Apple executives reaffirmed their intentions to increase production in India despite Trump’s objections, brushing off any effect from his remarks.
Kangana’s Continued Support for PM Modi
Even after deleting the post, Kangana continues to be a vocal advocate of Prime Minister Modi. After Operation Sindoor, India’s military action against the Pahalgam terror attack, she had praised Modi’s leadership and wrote:
“Dear Prime Minister ji, you led us with unmatched courage, wisdom, and unwavering commitment and compassion for the nation. A great leader in every sense.”
