Kanpur Man Protests in Pothole in a Bizarre Way

Protests in Pothole: A man’s strange demonstration in the city attracted a lot of attention after he was spotted waving slogans while lying in a water-filled pothole on the road with a bed and pillow. On social media, the protest video went viral. A student was hurt after she fell into a pothole filled with water in the city’s Barra-8 neighborhood. Her father demonstrated the authorities’ disregard for the road despite several objections by singing “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” while lying in the water with bedding.

He lay in the muddy water with bedding after his daughter was hurt in a bicycle accident on the damaged road between Ramgopal Chauraha and Jarauli. Additionally, a school bus is shown in the video, with kids inside joining in on the shouts. After the video went viral on Sunday, his unorthodox protest against the government’s inactivity gained momentum. The road that connects Ramgopal Chauraha to Anand South City in Jarauli is in bad shape, according to Sheelu Dubey, a shopkeeper and resident of I Block Barra-8.

What Happened:
Ten days ago, his daughter Ananya, a fourth-grader, was hurt when her bicycle struck a pothole. By sowing rice seedlings in the potholes, the locals demonstrated their support for the protest. Dubey’s pleas on social media went unanswered. He pointed out that commuters are at risk due to the busy road, which is utilized by thousands of cars and leads to a local representative’s school. “Someone gets hurt every day when they fall in the mud,” he remarked. The government appears to be anticipating a death.

The locals talked about their experiences driving on this dangerous road, including numerous collisions and damage to their cars. For regular users, the road’s state is especially problematic because it serves as a vital conduit between houses, markets, and schools. Officials from the municipal corporation visited the scene after the demonstration and pledged prompt action. They quickly used a JCB to repair the potholes with dirt. Officials will visit the location on Monday, according to Mayor Pramila Pandey. To avoid accidents, mud and gravel were strewn over the road for the time being. “Efforts will be made to start road construction after the rains,” added the mayor.

Social media users, however, questioned whether adding soil to the potholes would fix the issue and said that doing so might make it worse. The circumstance has spurred more extensive conversations over the upkeep of the city’s residential districts’ infrastructure. A thorough road maintenance plan has been demanded as a result of reports of comparable problems from other regions. Politicians in the area have brought up this matter, calling for prompt repairs and routine inspections.
