Kantara Chapter 1: The first chapter of Kantara has destroyed the box office. The 2022 movie’s prequel, which was written and directed by Rishab Shetty and starred him in the lead role, debuted to significant praise and fan fervor. After watching it, some social media videos are currently doing the rounds, showing viewers collapsing and looking possessed, much like the movie’s main character.
Woman Gets Possessed in the Theatre:
A middle-aged woman was seen trembling and shaking in her seat in a video shot inside a theater following the conclusion of the Kantara Chapter 1 presentation. She nearly passed out and refused to get up despite several other people’s attempts to soothe her and spritz her face with water. As other guests attempted to calm her, she also gave a firm shake of her head.

A Man Gets Possessed Outside the Theatre:
A second fan was observed acting possessed and reacting to a scene in which Rishab Shetty’s character yells and chants the name of the holy power. While several others watched and took pictures of his footage, the fan yelled and even lay down on the ground.

On his X account, Rishab thanked fans for the overwhelming love and support for the movie. “From barely getting one evening show in 2016 to more than 5,000 houseful shows in 2025,” he claimed. This journey is solely a result of God’s grace, your love, and support. I will always be thankful to everyone who helped make this possible. According to Sacnilk, the movie made over ₹65 crore on its first day of release. Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, and Rukmini Vasanth are also featured.
