Leading Mango-Producing Countries: Mangoes are one of the most popular fruits throughout the world, appreciated for their natural sweetness, flavor, and health benefits. Mangoes are primarily grown in tropical and subtropical regions, and are produced for a large agricultural industry. But, which country is the leading producer of mangoes in the world? Below, we examine both lists of significant producers!


India: The Mango Capital of the World

Production of mangoes will be most india. As India produces close to 50% of the worlds’ total supply. India has an annual mango production over 25 million metric tonnes. India’s production includes such a wide array of varieties, each having it’s own unique taste and texture.

Indian states with significantly high mango production include:


Uttar Pradesh- produces over 4.5 million metric tonnes, that is nearly 1/4 of the country’s total mango production.

Andhra Pradesh- The best mango states in the India because of the best varieties, that makes it very popular in the domestic market, and export market.

Maharashtra- The land of the famous Alphonso mango, that is considered by some to be the best mango in the world!

Other Large Mango-Producing Countries

While India is #1 mango supplier, several countries also contribute greatly in mango production:

1. China.

China produces around ~3.8 million metric tonnes of mangoes per year, ranking second worldwide. The main mango-producing areas are located in the southern provinces. However, as time goes by, greater production of mangoes can be anticipated in China!

2. Indonesia

Indonesia comes in soon after with about a 3.6 million metric tonnes of production, mainly from the Java and Sumatra islands.

3. Pakistan

Pakistan provides approximately 2.7 million metric tonnes, its prime varieties include Chaunsa and Sindhri, which are exceptional for their sweetness.

4. Mexico

Mexico produces 2.4 million metric tonnes which allows the country to grow and export into other international markets.

India drives the global market for mangoes followed by China, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Mexico with their unique mango varieties that compliment the global supply and meet the needs of consumers who are increasing their demand. With the growing acceptance of international trade. These countries will be challenged with the opportunity to govern the mango market and advance agriculture globally.
