Man Arrested in Gujarat for Sharing Military Info with Pakistani Spy

Military Info with Pakistani Spy: A 28-year-old man named Sahdevsinh Gohil from Gujarat’s Kutch district has been arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) for spying. He was caught sharing secret information about Indian military sites with a Pakistani agent.

Military Info with Pakistani Spy:

Gohil worked as a contract health worker in a village called Mata No Madh, near the India-Pakistan border. According to the ATS, a woman who pretended to be an Indian citizen contacted Gohil through WhatsApp in June 2023. She called herself “Aditi Bharadwaj” but was actually a spy from Pakistan.

Over time, Gohil became friends with her. She slowly gained his trust and asked him to send photos and videos of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian Navy buildings. These included both completed and under-construction facilities. Gohil agreed and sent the information through WhatsApp. He was paid money in return, around ₹40,000 in cash from an unknown person.

Later, Gohil also helped the agent get a new SIM card by sharing the OTP (one-time password) linked to his Aadhaar number. This allowed her to use WhatsApp from Pakistan using an Indian mobile number.

The ATS got a tip-off and brought Gohil in for questioning. His phone was sent for forensic analysis, which confirmed he had been sending sensitive data to Pakistan. It was also found that the numbers he used to share information are now active in Pakistan.

The ATS has charged Gohil and the Pakistani agent under strict laws for criminal conspiracy and waging war against the Indian government. This case highlights the dangers of online traps used by enemy agents and the need for people to stay alert.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to find out if anyone else was involved. The arrest is a serious reminder of how even ordinary individuals can be targeted by foreign spies and end up threatening national security.
