Telangana: Three policemen were killed in a landmine attack by Maoists on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. The incident took place while they were combing in the Vajedu forest area of Mulugu district. The Maoists strategically lured the police to the mine and blew it up. The attack has left the police department in a state of shock. Senior officers have reached the spot and launched a search operation. Police are advised to be vigilant in view of the high level of Maoist movement in the area.

According to reliable sources, the police had started combing the area after receiving information about the movement of Maoists in the dense forest area of Vajedu area of Mulugu district.
While the police were conducting combing, the Maoists strategically led them to a minefield. As soon as the police reached the area, the Maoists suddenly detonated the landmine. Three policemen were seriously injured in this powerful explosion and died on the spot. This incident created a panic in the area.
Immediately after the attack, senior officials rushed additional forces to the scene. They took complete control of the area and launched a search operation. The details of the deceased policemen are yet to be known. The incident has created a deep sense of grief in the police department. Many are condemning this misdeed by the Maoists.
Intelligence sources have been warning of increased Maoist activity in the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border area for some time now. In this context, the police are advised to be more vigilant. Many are of the opinion that targeting innocent policemen is a cowardly act by the Maoists. Top police officials of Telangana and Chhattisgarh states are meeting to discuss further action on this incident.
A major encounter took place in Karreguttala in Telangana and Chhattisgarh a few hours ago. There was an exchange of fire between security forces and Maoists at Karreguttala. It is known that about 22 Maoists were killed in this exchange of fire. Authorities have recovered a large amount of weapons and explosives from the scene.
