However, it is not known how much property and life was lost due to the earthquake so far. But according to the German Research Center for Geosciences, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 77 kilometers. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) has issued a tsunami warning due to the strong tremors. It also said that large waves are possible at a local level within a radius of 100 km from the earthquake site. And it also said that waves are also possible at a regional level within a radius of 1000 km.
Alerted by this, the authorities took emergency measures in coastal cities. All the local people were evacuated to safety centers. Arrangements were also made to provide food, water, and medical assistance at the safety centers. In addition, caution and warning boards were put up in areas used mostly by rural people, tourists, and fishing boats. Not only this, the Pacific and Atlantic Tismeu (PAA) systems were said to be constantly monitoring the sea waves. So far, no dangerous waves have been reported anywhere. However, the National Coast Guard has advised people to be careful for the next 72 hours. On the 13th of last month, a massive earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck Greece. Although there was no major damage at that time, people are still on guard.
