Massive Fire Erupts at Oil Godown Near Bengaluru

Oil Godown: On May 13, a fire started at Shell Oil and Gas Company’s godown in Adkamaranahalli, close to Nelamangala, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. Up to eleven fire tenders and emergency service personnel hurried to the scene. Their goal is to keep the fire under control.


Several lakhs of rupees’ worth of goods, including oil, have been destroyed. As of yet, no casualties have been reported. It is still unknown what caused the fire.

It is reported that this godown in Edakermarnahalli is spread across 5.5 acres of land and the fire caught in the 40,000 sqft area of where the main equipment’s are stationed. This place is rented out by the Shell Co. for the oil and grease storage. As of now 22 fire engines are deployed in the site and the operation is going on.
