Miss England Hyderabad Controversy: The Telangana government has launched a serious investigation into the allegations made by Miss England, Milla Magee, during the Miss World 2025 event in Hyderabad. Milla claimed she was treated disrespectfully, paraded in public places, and pressured to please wealthy sponsors, which caused widespread concern and media attention.
Milla Magee told a UK media outlet that her experience in Hyderabad was unpleasant. She said she felt like she was being treated like an object and that some people behaved inappropriately toward her. She added that she and other contestants were taken around the city for entertainment purposes and were asked to wear heavy makeup and gowns all day. According to her, this created mental discomfort and made her leave the competition early.
In response, the Telangana government took the matter seriously. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy ordered a detailed inquiry, headed by senior IPS officers Shikha Goel, Rema Rajeshwari, and Cyberabad DCP Sai Sri. The team is speaking with other Miss World contestants and reviewing videos to find out the truth.
Officials have also questioned Julia Morley, CEO of Miss World Organization, and Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department. The investigation team collected full details about who attended dinner with Milla Magee and who sat with her at the event.
Jayesh Ranjan stated that Milla’s claims are baseless. He said she was in Hyderabad for only eight days and that no other contestant reported any issues. Miss Wales, who sat with Milla at a dinner event, confirmed no misbehavior happened, though many people did try to take selfies, which caused slight discomfort.
The BRS party also reacted strongly, demanding a full inquiry. Meanwhile, Julia Morley denied the accusations and said they were untrue.
The incident has sparked national interest, with concerns over Telangana’s image and the reputation of global beauty pageants in India.
