Fireworks Ban: Due to tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, the Mumbai Police and Hyderabad Police on Saturday issued an order banning the use of rockets, fireworks, and firecrackers within the boundaries of Brihanmumbai from May 11 to June 9.
Akbar Pathan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Brihan Mumbai, issued an order under the Maharashtra Police Act banning firecrackers across the city. From 11 May to 09 June 2025 (both days inclusive), no one may set off or throw firecrackers, fireworks, or launch rockets, including chidis, within Brihan Mumbai limits.
“I, further direct that this order shall be promulgated in Brihan Mumbai by affixing copies thereof at prominent public places and by announcing the same on loudspeakers/megaphones,” it continued.
India & Pakistan’s Ceasefire:
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on Saturday that India and Pakistan had agreed to stop all air and ground military operations and cease fire starting at 5 p.m. today. However, sources close to the ceasefire decision clarified that neither side has decided to hold talks on any other issues or at any other location.

“Earlier this afternoon at 15:35, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India received a call from the DGMO of Pakistan. Both sides agreed to cease all air, marine, and land-based military operations and fire starting at 1700 hours IST, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Additionally, S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, declared that India and Pakistan have reached a consensus today to halt military action and fire. Indian strikes on four Pakistani airbases occurred early Saturday morning. Soon after Pakistan struck 26 locations around India, India began retaliatory attacks.
