Mumbai Rain: City Flooded, IMD Issues Orange Alert

Mumbai Rain: Mumbai is experiencing heavy cloudburst on Monday,as per the IMD updates. According to data, several cities in the city has recorded significant rainfall.


 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed the city under an orange alert, indicating the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rain over the next couple of days.


 

Rainfall Across the City

Several parts of Mumbai, including suburbs like Santacruz and central regions such as Dadar, have reported significant rainfall. The intensity of the showers has led to localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas, causing disruption to traffic and daily commutes.

 

Mumbai Rain: Forecast Ahead

The IMD predicts that the heavy rain will continue through May 28, with overcast skies and high humidity. Daytime temperatures are expected to stay between 23°C and 31°C, while rainfall intensity may reduce to moderate levels by midweek.

 

Due to the downpour, areas such as Thane and Bhiwandi have seen traffic congestion and waterlogging. Residents are advised to:

  • Avoid waterlogged zones
  • Follow official advisories
  • Postpone non-essential travel during peak rain hours

Officials are monitoring the situation closely, and emergency teams are on alert in case conditions worsen.

 

Other Major Updates in Mumbai

  • Train services at Dadar,Kurla shortly stopped due to water logging.
  • Due to heavy rainfall, it has lead to waterlogging at KEM hospital, with water entering the ground floor.
  • Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, several flight services have been disrupted. The airlines have informed their passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
  • Continuous heavy rains has led to flooding on roads near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai.
