The Telangana state government is going to bring key changes in the ration system. This time, the newly issued ration cards will be made with modern technology. Now these cards will not only be light blue in color, but they will also have a special QR code on them. Through this, whenever the card is scanned, the complete details of the family members, including their photos, will be included. The complete details regarding this are as follows.
Thousands of applications have been received for new ration cards in Telangana. While ration cards were supposed to be issued from March 1, the process has been postponed. It seems that new cards have already been issued in some districts. In Hyderabad, the process of issuing new cards has been postponed. However, key changes will be made in the new ration cards. CM Revanth Reddy has already suggested new models to the officials.
Not only those who have applied for new ration cards, but also those who already have ration cards will be issued these new cards. The Civil Supplies Department officials are working towards this. Currently, there are more than 89 lakh cards in Telangana, but there are another 18 lakh applications for new cards, changes and additions. The officials have already completed the examination of these. There are chances that the total number of ration cards across Telangana will cross one crore. These cards will be seen in a new form from now on.
There has been an increase in fake and bogus cards in ration cards. In order to avoid them, the government has decided to issue new cards with QR codes. Currently, ration is being distributed through the ration card number or OTP when you go to the ration shop. Now, the QR code will be visible in the ration shops. If you scan these, you will have the opportunity to give ration. This will prevent the ration from going astray and only the people in that family will be able to take ration. Official sources say that this will prevent the ineligible from getting ration.
The Center has provided the facility of taking ration on the basis of portability to those who already have cards across the country. These are being provided as part of One Ration, One Nation. Initially, the government planned to issue cards with a chip. Since the cost of each card would be Rs. 31, it was decided to issue cards with this QR code. This card will cost only Rs. 3. It seems that the government has taken this policy decision on the advice of experts as there is a possibility of making changes and additions to ration cards with a chip card, technical problems may also arise. There is no clarity on whether the CM’s photos will be placed on the new cards. But the government logo will be there. This time the new cards issued will be in the name of the woman of the house.
