NIA: On Thursday, May 29, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained YouTuber Bayya Sunny Yadav from Suryapet, Telangana, for allegedly traveling to Pakistan.

NIA officials took Yadav into custody at the Chennai airport. His motorcycle trip to Pakistan two months ago, documented and shared on his YouTube channel, raised national security concerns. With tensions high between India and Pakistan, the NIA is actively investigating whether Yadav shared sensitive information or engaged in any suspicious activities during his visit. The investigation forms part of the agency’s post-Operation Sindoor espionage crackdown.

NIA Arrested YouTuber Sunny Yadav:

Investigators have confiscated Yadav’s electronic gadgets for forensic examination to determine the purpose and nature of his journey. Authorities had already implicated Yadav in a case involving the promotion of illicit betting applications on his YouTube channel prior to his trip to Pakistan. Police in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had registered multiple FIRs against him, including one filed at the Nuthankal Police Station in Suryapet on March 5, 2025. While Yadav was overseas, officials issued a watch circular and launched search operations to track him down.

Sunny Yadav’s Father’s Response:
Sunny’s father, Ravinder Yadav, reportedly stated that he would ask the Telangana High Court for its intervention to track down his son. “I was unable to submit a petition on Friday as planned. On Saturday, I’ll move the court. “As of right now, I don’t know which police agency picked up my son,” Ravinder was cited by the media as saying.
