Swamy Nithyananda: The news of the death of controversial Swami Nithyananda has gone viral on social media. A video has been circulating in the name of Nithyananda’s sister’s son Sundareswaran. In this video, he said that Nithyananda had passed away and that he had fought for Hinduism throughout his life. People thought it was true. But, when it was later revealed that this was all an April Fool’s joke, people were shocked. Recently, another news related to Nithyananda has been circulating.
Controversial Swami Nithyananda, who has been on the run since 2019, is once again in the news after being implicated in several cases including human trafficking, child abduction, and sexual assault. It is known that Nithyananda fooled everyone by claiming that he was dead. Recently, it has come to light that he tried to seize land in the Amazon forest in Bolivia, South America. It has been revealed that his followers tried to seize land and entered into lease agreements with local tribes. After this matter came to light, the Bolivian authorities arrested a total of 21 people and sent them all to their respective countries.
It is known that Nithyananda, who fled India, has revealed that he has named an island near Ecuador after Kailash. Some people with connections to this Kailash country recently visited Bolivia and helped the locals fight the fire. In this process, they set their sights on those lands and even signed agreements with local tribes for lease. They also posed for photos with Bolivian President Luis Arce. Finally, a representative of the local tribe agreed to lease an area three times the size of Delhi for 25 years for $200,000.
However, Nithyananda’s representatives brought forward proposals such as a thousand-year lease, airspace use, natural resources, and mining. Nithyananda’s conspiracy was exposed when a Bolivian newspaper published an investigation into this matter. The alerted Luis government took action. It arrested 21 people associated with Kailash. It canceled the agreements they had made and sent the relevant people to their countries (India, China, and America).
Immigration officials said that these people, who have visited Bolivia several times as tourists, have made agreements with locals. They said that they have found that some of them have been there since November last year. Speaking to the New York Times on this matter, Bolivia’s Foreign Minister clarified that they have no diplomatic relations with the disputed United States of Kailash.
Pedro Guasico, a tribal leader who signed an agreement with representatives of Nithyananda Kailasa, said that they were approached about the lease of the lands at the end of 2024. They said that they had helped in extinguishing the fire and brought up the matter of the lease. “We were deceived by their words. They promised to take our land and give us a certain amount of money per year. But that is completely wrong,” he said.
Meanwhile, there have been many speculations about the whereabouts of Kailasa. Recently, the Tamil Nadu government also told the Madras High Court that Nithyananda is in Ecuador in connection with a case.
