One Rupee Meal in Hyderabad: In Hyderabad, an exciting commencement is been made by a hotel, keeping in mind the daily wage earners. Karuna Kitchen, Secunderabad is providing a full meal for just one rupee. Good Samaritans India, a non-profit organization under the leadership of George Rakesh Babu, is providing this service. The organizer said that they will expand their services in the city in the future.
Currently in Hyderabad, one has to pay a lot of money to have a meal. Once a full meal cost just Rs. 50. Now one has to pay between Rs. 90 and Rs. 100. Such a large amount is a burden for the workers who go to work every day. However, even though the government is providing Rs. 5 meals. Many people do not want to eat them. However, in Secunderabad, meals are being provided for just Rs. 1 to satisfy the hunger of needy people. Many people come to the city with their stomachs in their hands for labor. If the daily wage earners do not find work that day, they mostly stay starved.
Karuna Kitchen, located near Manohar Talkies in the Secunderabad area, is a venue for having a perfect meal. There, the workers have been provided with meals for just one rupee for the past month and a half. The Good Samaritans India NGO is showing its generosity. Here, midday meals are provided daily under the leadership of George Rakesh Babu. He says that the satisfaction of those who come to the city is different when their hunger is satisfied. That is why they are providing meals for just one rupee.
He said that he was inspired by famous cricketer Gautam Gambhir who also took the initiative in serving meals for one rupee and mentioned that as soon as the idea came to him, he decided to provide one rupee meal in Hyderabad.
