Online Ticket System for Temples in Telangana to Curb Scams

Online Ticket System for Temples:
The Telangana government has decided to curb ticket fraud in temples. From now on, all tickets for general darshan, VIP darshan, abhishekam, laddus and pulihora will be available only online. The endowments department has planned this move to ensure transparency.

Online Ticket System for Temples:

Recent scams in Komuravelli, Balkampet and Basara temples exposed illegal ticket sales. The government has decided to stop manual ticket issuance to prevent fraud. Authorities found that some employees reused tickets and sold fake ones and this led to significant losses.

Minister’s Review Meeting on April 15

Endowments Minister Konda Surekha will review the issue with officials on April 15. After this meeting, the government may issue official orders to implement the online ticket system. This system will help devotees book services in advance without visiting the temples. It will also strengthen financial supervision.

Officials found large scale irregularities in ticket sales at major temples like Vemulawada, Bhadrachalam, Yadagirigutta, Basara, Bhadrakali, Chervugattu and Komuravelli. Reports suggest VIP tickets meant for ₹500 were illegally sold for ₹2,000 to ₹5,000. Some staff and middlemen exploited devotees for money.

In Balkampet Ellamma temple, employees printed and sold fake tickets collecting ₹31,000 in a single day. This scam led to complaints and police action. Similar issues surfaced in Chervugattu temple where staff misused parking fee collections. In Basara temple, two employees were suspended, and four temporary workers were removed for involvement in laddu ticket fraud.

VIP Ticket Allocation Under Scrutiny

VIP tickets have become a major concern. Many devotees struggle in long queues, while some pay extra for quick entry. Allegations suggest that certain staff members serving in the same temple for years, misuse their positions.

The online ticket system aims to eliminate these scams. It will provide transparency and ensure fair access to temple services.
