The United States recently carried out a secret military operation called “Operation Midnight Hammer” targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities. The Pentagon (US Defense Department) announced the operation as a carefully planned and highly coordinated mission meant to weaken Iran’s nuclear weapon capabilities.
This attack came after former US President Donald Trump decided not to wait for a previously set two-week deadline. Instead, he gave the green signal for a surprise strike. The mission was considered high-risk and involved exceptional coordination across different military areas, including land, air, and sea.
What Happened in Midnight Hammer?
In the midnight hours between Friday and Saturday, a fleet of B-2 stealth bombers took off from the United States. These bombers are known for their ability to fly long distances without being detected by enemy radar.
The operation had two parts:
A decoy fleet was sent west toward the Pacific Ocean to distract enemy radar and maintain the element of surprise.
Meanwhile, the main strike fleet of seven B-2 bombers flew east silently, with very limited communication, to directly target three Iranian nuclear sites.
Each B-2 bomber had only two crew members, highlighting how secret and limited this operation was. Very few people in Washington even knew about the plan or the timing of the attack.
Purpose of the Attack
The US stated that this operation was not just a show of force, but a serious effort to damage Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. By doing this, the US aimed to send a clear message that it would take direct action if it believed Iran was moving too close to building nuclear weapons.
This move has caused international concern, with many world leaders urging restraint to avoid further violence in the region. Iran, on the other hand, has strongly condemned the strike and warned of future retaliation.
In summary, Operation Midnight Hammer shows the US’s military strength and its readiness to act without delay. But it has also added more tension to an already dangerous situation in the Middle East.
