India reacted to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 25 Indian citizens by conducting Operation Sindoor. The operation was on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), where 70 terrorists were killed. Pragati Jagdale, the wife of martyred Santosh Jagdale of the Pahalgam attack, expressed her views about the operation. She quoted, “Modi ji has informed Pakistan that we will not remain silent. I think, with Operation Sindoor, PM Modi will bring an end to terrorism.” She also added that the name of the operation made her eyes teary. And she said, “On hearing the name of this operation, I got tears in my eyes. I really thank the government sincerely.”
“This Is Just the Beginning”: Justice Calls
Operation Sindoor has been described as “beginning of revenge” by Ashanya Dwivedi, the wife of another victim, Shubham Dwivedi. She appeared confident of the Indian government’s action, asserting, “I know that Modi Ji won’t stop till he wipes them (terrorists) off completely. He has given us this much belief that all the terror spots will be destroyed.”

Kaustubh Ganbote’s wife Sangita Ganbote also thanked the operation and stated, “The move by the armed forces is welcome, and by naming it Operation Sindoor, they have respected the dignity of the women. I still cry on some days. We were expecting PM Modi to do something, and he has given them the right reaction. Terrorists should be eliminated.”
Operation Sindoor has received universal gratitude from the families of the victims in the Pahalgam massacre. They are mostly of the opinion that the airstrikes are a move towards justice because it guarantees those who are responsible for initiating the attack are brought to book. During the current war against terrorism by India, these families’ voices serve as a reminder of the human cost paid for such occurrences.
