Pakistan a Safe Haven for Terrorists, More Attacks on India, Says MEA

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly spoke out after Operation Sindoor, asserting that Pakistan remains a safe haven for terrorists. The operation, initiated in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and killed some militants. Pakistan a Safe Haven for Terrorists, More Attacks on India, reveals MEA.

Pakistan a Safe Haven for Terrorists, Says MEA:

MEA noted that there are reports from credible sources citing the fact that terror groups originating from Pakistan had conspired to carry out further attacks on India. The ministry further added, “India has credible leads, technical inputs, testimony of survivors, and other evidence pointing towards the clear involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists in the Pahalgam attack.” It further added that Pakistan has time and again failed to act against terror outfits based on its soil.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Counterterrorism
India, in a collaborative military operation, struck nine locations. Including the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed at Bahawalpur and headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba at Muridke. The operation began with precision attacks, hitting terror infrastructure only with no civilian casualties. The government of India asserted that the strikes were calibrated, responsible, and non-escalatory.

Pakistan’s Response and International Reaction
Pakistan has condemned the attacks in very strong terms, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif describing them as an “act of war” and threatening to retaliate. World leaders, however, such as the United Nations and the United States, have called on restraint by both countries. Israel, however, has stood up for India’s right to defend itself, stating that terrorists must be made to understand that there is no place to hide.

India’s Operation Sindoor has sent a very loud message that terrorism would never be tolerated. MEA’s exposures of Pakistan’s continued patronage to terror outfits have only added to the tension between the two countries. Diplomacy is underway, but India is firm on national security and counter-terror initiatives.
