Pakistan Funds Masood Azhar ₹14 Cr Post Operation Sindoor

The Pakistani government has apparently sanctioned a reward of ₹14 crore to Masood Azhar, a UN-listed terrorist and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief. Pakistan Funds Masood Azhar after Operation Sindoor, a military operation by India on terror camps. The action has outraged people and raised a question mark over Pakistan’s policy towards terrorism.

Operation Sindoor: India’s Precision Strike

India conducted Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, a precision airstrikes operation against JeM camps in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. The operation targeted terror camps and struck at the highest-level operatives. Indian authorities assert that there was no civilian space targeted and the operation was entirely terror infrastructure-centric.

Pakistan’s Compensation Plan
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has authorized ₹1 crore to each of the victims. As to their rightful heirs who were killed in the raids. As 14 members of Masood Azhar’s family died, as per reports, his elder sister, her husband, a nephew, a niece, and five children. Masood Azhar may be eligible for the full ₹14 crore compensation if he is the only rightful heir.

Rebuilding Terror Infrastructure?
Apart from the compensation, Pakistan has promised to rebuild damaged homes in the airstrikes. The Indian defense officials have also arrested that once again, the rebuilt homes will be a hotspot of terrorist activity and, once again, will infuriate the two countries.

India’s Response & Global Reactions
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suggested that India will keenly observe what action Pakistan takes over the next few days. The compensation package has also faced fierce criticism from outside observers who are of the opinion that Pakistan’s economic aid to Azhar. This can make terror organizations more susceptible and regionally destabilize security.

Conclusion
Pakistan’s move to sponsor Masood Azhar after Operation Sindoor has built diplomatic pressure. India is keeping its guard up as the global community closely observes to determine if the move is a violation of commitments against counter-terrorist goals or fostering more extremism in the region.
