The earthquake, incidentally, occurs two days after tremors occurred on May 10 in the same spot in Pakistan. Because of the heavier ground shaking, experts caution that shallow earthquakes, such as those that were observed over the weekend, are usually more harmful. Pakistan, which is located near the active border between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, continues to be one of the most earthquake-prone areas in the world.
Places Affected:
Numerous provinces, such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, are situated close to important fault lines, which raises the possibility of frequent seismic activity. As of right now, there are no reports of injuries or damage from today’s earthquake.
