Pakistan Train Hijack: BLA releases a video!

BLA militants have taken 182 people hostage, most of whom were security personnel. Officials said there were about 500 passengers on board the train at the time of the attack. The militants attacked the train as it was traveling from the mountainous city of Quetta to Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. There are 17 tunnels on the route, and they blew up the track at the 8th tunnel and hijacked the Zafar Express. They then surrounded the train and opened fire on it. The loco pilot was killed in the firing and several passengers were injured.

The video released by BLA:

The army is tracing the militants, who are taking some hostages in the mountainous areas. There are reports that the militants have split into groups to escape. However, the security forces have surrounded the tunnel and the operation has become difficult due to the mountainous area, officials said. On the other hand, the militants are demanding the release of the people abducted by the army and the Baloch political prisoners in jail within 48 hours, otherwise, they will blow up the train completely. Moreover, they have threatened to kill 10 hostages if the military operation is not stopped.

Meanwhile, although the BLA has announced that women and children have been released. Government sources believe that they are being used as protective shields. Another train has been sent there to protect the passengers.
In the wake of the Pakistan Train hijack incident, emergency relief centers have been set up at Peshawar and Quetta railway stations for the relatives of the victims.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the incident. However, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has accused ‘enemy forces’ of conspiring to create instability in the country by inciting violence in Balochistan.
