In the recent development projects, PM Modi Announces the development of a ₹3,653.10 crore highway project. The route starts from Badvel to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh. The 108.134-kilometer long road will be developed under the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) model. This will help improve connectivity to Krishnapatnam Port.
The Badvel-Nellore Highway will start from Gopavaram Village on National Highway NH-67 in YSR Kadapa district and end at Guruvindapudi near Krishnapatnam Port Junction on NH-16, which is the Chennai-Kolkata corridor.

Decrease in distance of travel from 142 km to 108.13 km, thus saving one hour of travelling time.
Reduced fuel usage and vehicle operating costs, hence promoting environmental sustainability.
Economic & Employment Impact
The project will create around 20 lakh man-days of direct jobs and 23 lakh man-days of indirect jobs. Further, enhanced infrastructure will increase economic activity in the area, and hence benefit local industries and businesses.
Strategic Importance
The highway will become instrumental in enhancing India’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) by gaining efficiency in the supply chain. It will also enable quicker movement of goods between industrial and port hubs, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a premier player in India’s trade circuit.
