PM Modi declines Trump dinner invite; Here is why

PM Modi declines Trump dinner invite:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently shared an interesting moment from his diplomatic journey. While attending the G7 Summit in Canada, he received a dinner invitation from United States President Donald Trump. However, Modi politely declined the offer, choosing instead to continue his journey to Odisha.

PM Modi declines Trump dinner invite:

Speaking at a public event in Bhubaneswar, the Prime Minister said that President Trump personally invited him to Washington, saying, “Since you are in Canada, come via Washington. Let’s have dinner and talk.” Although the invite was extended warmly, PM Modi responded, “Thank you for the invitation, but I must go to the land of Mahaprabhu (Odisha).” He was referring to his planned visit to the sacred Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Modi added that his deep devotion to Lord Jagannath and the people’s love inspired him to visit Odisha. The occasion also marked the first anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state.

During the event, PM Modi also criticised the Congress party, accusing it of neglecting tribal communities for decades. He said previous governments intentionally left tribal areas underdeveloped and labeled them as “red corridors” to serve political interests.

Highlighting the BJP’s efforts, Modi said over 125 tribal-dominated districts affected by Maoist violence are now seeing progress. He claimed that reopening the four gates of the Puri Jagannath Temple and its treasury was a major achievement of the BJP government.

He praised the Odisha BJP government for completing one year in power with a focus on good governance and public service. According to him, this one-year milestone stands as a symbol of public trust and development.

In summary, PM Modi’s decision to prioritize Odisha over a high-profile dinner invitation reflected his commitment to faith, duty, and the people of India.
