Power Cut Alert in Bengaluru Today:
The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced a major power cut in several areas of Bengaluru on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Officials will interrupt power supply for up to seven hours in different parts of the city due to maintenance work.
According to reports, the power cut is planned between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. BESCOM carries out scheduled maintenance activities, especially during weekends, as the electricity demand is generally lower with most people off work.
Officials are carrying out maintenance work at the 66/11 kV A station, which supplies power to many areas of the city. As a result, several locations in Bengaluru will face electricity disruptions.
The power outage will affect areas including Seshadri Road, Kurubara Sangha Circle, 1st Main Road, Gandhi Nagar 1st Cross, parts of 2nd Cross, Crescent Road, Seshadripuram, Vinayaka Circle, Kempegowda Road, Tank Bund Road, Subedar Chatram Road, Lakshmanpuri Slum Area, Cubbonpet, Anand Rao Circle, Race Course Road, Chalukya Circle, High Grounds, Malleswaram, and parts of Seshadripuram.
BESCOM regularly carries out such power cuts to perform essential work, such as tree trimming, underground cable installations, high-tension line repairs, and system upgrades. These works help ensure better electricity supply and safety in the long run.
Earlier this month, many areas in Bengaluru faced similar power outages due to maintenance projects like the 24×7 water supply system, reconductoring of lines, and upgrades to key power equipment.
BESCOM has requested residents to plan their activities accordingly and bear with the temporary inconvenience as these works aim to improve the city’s infrastructure and power reliability.
