Racheal Kaur, an Indian employee of AirAsia with two kids, travels from Penang to Sepang, Malaysia, five days a week to balance work and family life. Racheal claimed to spend $316 (about $28,000) a month. She stated in an interview that she doesn’t work from home.”It is easier to complete a task when people surround you.”
She stays in Kuala Lumpur, in the start of her job she used to visit her two children on weekends. So she made a decision to fly 5 days a week by air. This helps her to spend time with her family and help her kids with last-minute homework.
Interview Racheal said that she wakes up by 4 am to catch a 5.55 am flight from Penang to sepang, to balance her family and work life. Generally, her flight travel is around 30 to 40 minutes for a distance of 400 kms. She makes sure she reaches the office by 7.45 am and returns home by 7.30 pm. She said that in the festive season, it’s tough to get a seat but other than those days she doesn’t have much problem in traveling.
