Andhra Pradesh
The government of Andhra Pradesh has revised its Dussehra holiday schedule. Schools across the state will now remain closed from 22nd September instead of 24th September. This decision was taken after requests from teachers to extend the break. Families can enjoy a longer festive vacation together.
In Punjab, schools will stay shut on Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. The state government announced the closure to honor the birth anniversary of the legendary king, Maharaja Agrasen, known for promoting equality and economic reforms.
Haryana schools will also remain closed on Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti. Additionally, the state will observe Shaheedi Divas on 23rd September to remember its martyrs. Schools, government offices, and many private institutions will remain shut, making it a two-day break.
Schools in Rajasthan are expected to be closed due to the start of Navratri on 22nd September. Navratri is celebrated with devotion and cultural programs, and holidays are often declared at a regional level for smooth observance of the festival.
Students in Karnataka will have one of the longest breaks this year. Schools will remain closed for Dasara holidays from 20th September to 6th October 2025. Classes will resume on 7th October. However, SSLC students might attend extra sessions during this period for exam preparation.
Telangana: Some schools may adjust schedules due to preparations for Bathukamma from 27th September.
Jammu & Kashmir: A holiday is likely on 23rd September for Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday.
West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, and Bihar: Schools may close later this month for Durga Puja, starting on 29th September.
