Schools Holiday Break:
After a festive October filled with long holidays, November 2025 has again brought cheerful news for students. This month’s calendar is packed with several holidays for schools, colleges, and government offices across India. From religious festivals to weekends, students will be getting an extended break, much to their excitement.
In several states, schools will remain closed for nearly nine days in total. These holidays are spread throughout the month due to major occasions like Karthika Pournami, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day, and the usual weekend offs. Schools in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and many other states are following their regional schedules, adjusting the holidays as per local customs and state events.
The list of holidays begins with Karthika Pournami on November 5, a festival that holds great spiritual importance in many regions. Following that, Guru Nanak Jayanti on November 6 will also be a holiday in several northern states, especially Punjab and Haryana. Later in the month, Guru Tegh Bahadur Martyrdom Day on November 24 will be observed in select areas.
Along with these festival holidays, students will also get regular weekend breaks like the second Saturday (November 8) and Sundays on November 9, 16, 23, and 30. Together, these form a total of about nine holidays for schools throughout the month.
This extended break provides students with a much-needed pause from their routine. It’s also an opportunity for families to plan short vacations or spiritual trips during the festive season. Teachers and parents believe such breaks help students recharge before returning to classes with renewed focus.
As November progresses, schools will resume their normal schedules, but for now, students across the country can celebrate a relaxing and joyful break.
