Secunderabad Station Redevelopment: 100+ Trains Shifted to Cherlapalli Terminal

Secunderabad railway station has been the transportation source for the state. This station has a history of more than 150 years. Presently, the government has taken an initiative to redevelop the station. They aim to make this station like an airport. As part of the redevelopment, the works are going on at high speed. They are going to install sky concourses, lifts, escalators, foot over bridges, and following this, they are going to redevelop the ticketing counter with modern standards.


100+ Trains Diverted:

According to the sources, more than half of the platforms are going to be closed for more than 115 days. As part of the development, the authorities have taken this decision. From April 15th onwards, the railway authorities have confirmed that they are going to divert more than 100 trains. This prior information is going to make the passengers easier will travelling.


The railway authorities clarified, most of the trains are going to run from Cherlapalli railway terminal, apart from this some trains are going to run from Nampally and Kacheguda also.

Redevelopment Cost:
The estimation for the redevelopment for this project was around 715 crores. Redevelopment is going meet the airport standards with high quality interiors and high tech equipments in the station.

Secunderabad Railway Station will develop into a railway hub. This station will become one of the nation’s most cutting-edge railway hubs after renovations. Passengers will benefit from improved convenience and top-notch amenities.

Developments Inside Station:

In the development they are going to focus on, digital information boards and upscale lounges will be installed in airport-style facilities. The train station’s electricity needs will be satisfied by the installation of solar panels and lighting. Moreover, to make the station more environmentally friendly, waste management and water recycling systems are being upgraded. To provide convenient access to the station, new highways and metro link initiatives are being incorporated. To handle the growing traffic, parking lots and multi-level parking structures are being constructed.
