Tensions escalated along the India-Pakistan border as Pakistan breaks ceasefire agreement within hours of it coming into effect. Intensive shelling in the majority of districts of Jammu and Kashmir has caused casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The India-Pakistan ceasefire agreement was supposed to bring back peace to the region. Within a few hours, however, Pakistan’s army opened artillery fire and launched drone attacks on border towns like Poonch and Rajouri.

Five civilians, one being a senior administrative officer of the Jammu Kashmir Administrative Services, were reported to have been killed, and many injured. The civilians had to flee and seek shelter in relief camps.

The Indian Troops responded swiftly, eliminating some of the threats and halting any further damage. Pakistan attempted to attack military institutions, but some missiles aimed at India’s defense mechanism were intercepted.
