Popular South Indian playback singer Kalpana has attempted suicide at her apartment in Hyderabad. While the reason for her suicide is unknown, the singer is treated in Holistic hospital.

Since her apartment doors remained closed for two days, the security sensed something unusual and informed the apartment association. When the association members tried calling her, there was no response. They immediately informed her husband, who is in Chennai. He called her but to no avail. When the association members informed the police, patrolling police broke the doors and found Kalpana unconscious. Police admitted her to the hospital, and the treatment is still going on. Her husband is expected to reach anytime soon.

Kalpana has sung many songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam. She worked with almost all top music composers in the South Industry. She has performed in several shows and events in India and abroad.

She was a participant in the Bigg Boss Telugu reality show.
