The rescue operations in the SLBC tunnel accident incident are continuing for the 16th day. The latest development in the rescue operation is that Kerala Dogs have identified a body part at Zero Point and the rescue team has started excavations there.

Some progress has been made in identifying the missing people in the tunnel. It is learnt that the Kerala Cadaver Dogs Squad has detected human traces at D-2 point, 100 meters away from the accident site. A hand belonging to a dead body was found on the left side of the TBM machine.
Excavations are currently underway to locate those trapped in the areas identified by GPR and cadaver dogs. Crews are carefully removing soil in the area. It is known that the body is completely embedded in concrete. Officials estimate that it will be possible to extract the bodies only through drilling. A team of 130 experts participated in the rescue operation today. Some of the missing people are likely to be identified by this evening. However, the discovery of traces has not been officially announced. There is a chance that full-scale updates will come soon.
Uttam Kumar Reddy conducted a review of the rescue operations at the SLBC accident site on Saturday afternoon. Uttam Kumar said that the total length of the tunnel is 14 km, and 13,950 meters are clear and the last 50 meters at the zero point are complicated. He said that there are difficulties in carrying out rescue operations in the last 50 meters.
He said that if rescue operations are carried out there, it will be dangerous for the rescue operation as well. Also said that when searching with Kerala Jagilas, they found that there were three people in one place and they are looking to carry out rescue operations with the help of robots as part of the rescue. He said that there will be another review of the accident and rescue operations at the Chief Minister’s level on the 11th of this month. Minister Uttam assured that he will support the families of those who are missing.
