Tahawwur Rana’s 3 Demands to NIA: Here’s What He Wants

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) received three demands from Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the 26/11 Mumbai attack conspirator who was extradited from the United States, for his 18-day detention. According to the officials, among other things, Rana, the “religious man,” had requested the Quran.

A copy of the Quran was given to the 64-year-old Canadian businessman of Pakistani descent upon his request. “He is seen offering Namaz five times in his cell,” the officer stated, characterizing Rana as a “religious man.”

Rana’s 3 Demands To NIA:

According to the official, Rana requested a pen and paper in addition to the Quran. Tahawwur Rana is being handled “like any other arrested person with no special treatment,” the spokesman emphasized, adding that all three of his requests are being met.

He is being closely watched, though, to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself with the pen. The officer stated, “He has not made any other demands beyond that.”

According to the media sources, he is detained in a highly secured cell at the anti-terror agency’s headquarters at the CGO complex in Delhi, where security guards are on duty around the clock. Rana is permitted to see a lawyer from the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) every other day in accordance with court orders. Every 24 hours, he also has a medical examination.
