Telangana: 4,600 New TB Cases Reported!

Tuberculosis is spreading steadily in Telangana. Despite the government’s efforts to sensitize people every year with special programs to eradicate the disease, TB is still rampant. 4,600 new cases have come to light in the state. New cases have come to light in the tuberculosis diagnostic tests carried out as part of the 100-day TB eradication program. 9 districts with high cases in the state have been identified and six portable handled AI X-ray machines have been used there. The emergence of new cases in this is disturbing.

What causes TB? How to prevent?

Tuberculosis is caused by a microbe called Tuberculosis coli. Doctors say that severe fever for more than two weeks, cough, loss of appetite, weight loss, and frequent coughing with phlegm are the symptoms of tuberculosis. If tests are done immediately, the severity of the disease can be controlled in the beginning. This disease spreads rapidly in people with low immunity. Those infected with the disease can be easily cured if they eat proper nutrition and take medicines regularly. Otherwise, this disease is life-threatening.

Tuberculosis is transmitted from one person to another. An infected patient can spread the disease to others through coughing, sneezing, and spitting. Germs enter very easily in crowded places. Tuberculosis can spread easily among people suffering from chronic diseases and taking medication. If precautions are not taken when patients cough and sneeze, it can spread rapidly from one person to another through the air. Doctors have revealed that HIV patients are more likely to get infected with tuberculosis than the general population.

The government provides free medicines to tuberculosis patients. Doctors advise them to use them regularly. They say that if patients voluntarily come forward and get diagnosed and treated, it will be effective.
