Telangana Govt to Clear Pending Bills of Employees in Phases

Pending Bills of Employees: The Telangana government has decided to clear the pending salary bills of its employees. This decision comes after Employee JAC representatives met Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and submitted a petition. The Deputy CM assured them that the bills would be released soon in a phased manner.


Employee JAC Leaders Meet Deputy CM

Employees JAC Chairman V. Lachireddy, along with other representatives, met the Deputy CM at Praja Bhavan on Friday morning. They explained the problems faced by government employees due to unpaid bills. The JAC leaders highlighted that many employees have been waiting for their funds for a long time.

The major concern was not only government employees’ pending salaries but also payments related to outsourcing staff. The Deputy CM responded positively and assured that the government would take necessary steps to resolve the issue soon.


Telangana Has 3.59 Lakh Government Employees

According to official records, Telangana has around 3.59 lakh government employees. Among them, 1.1 lakh are teachers. Many of these employees have been facing financial struggles due to delays in payments.
The employee unions estimate that the total pending amount is between ₹8,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore. The delay in payments has affected many employees who rely on these funds for medical expenses, loan repayments, and other financial commitments.

Types of Pending Bills
The pending payments include:
GPF (General Provident Fund) – Employees’ savings fund.
Leave Surrender – Encashment of earned leave.
Leave Encashment – Payment for unused leave.
Earned Leave Payments – Salary for accumulated leave.
Medical Reimbursement – Repayment of medical expenses.
TGLI (Telangana Government Life Insurance) – Insurance benefits.
Group Insurance – Employee insurance payments.
CPS (Contributory Pension Scheme) Dues – Pending pension contributions.Pending Bills of Employees:
Due to financial constraints, the government is unable to clear all pending bills at once. Initially, the state had set a limit of ₹300 crore per month for these payments. However, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka recently announced that from April onwards, the government will release ₹500-₹600 crore per month to clear the dues faster.
