Telangana Voting: New Polling Booth Rules Issued

Telangana Voting: Local body elections will be held soon in Telangana. The Congress government is working to hold local body elections within two months of June and July. In this context, Telangana Chief Election Officer Sudarshan Reddy held a video conference with district collectors and election officials on Monday. On this occasion, he issued key instructions to the officials. As part of this, it was revealed that the polling rules have changed.

New Polling Booth Rules

Speaking on this occasion, CEO Sudarshan Reddy said that he has issued instructions to the officials to correct the voters’ list in the state soon and complete the special list in a strict manner. He also said that for the convenience of the voters, polling stations should be allocated so that they are accessible to them. He also said that polling booths with a large number of voters should be identified, divided and new ones should be set up.

Similarly, Sudarshan Reddy suggested that the authorities should take steps to ensure that new polling stations are set up near those living in large apartments, newly established colonies and huts. For this, he issued instructions to the authorities to conduct special surveys and identify suitable places for setting up new polling stations. He also suggested that steps should be taken to ensure that all members of a family vote at the same polling station.

Telangana Voting: Precautions to be taken

Keeping in mind the upcoming local body elections, Sudarshan Reddy told the officials to take appropriate precautions in advance to ensure that there is no shortage of staff for election duties. He also advised everyone to be fully aware of issues such as election rules, laws, and voter lists. He said that BLOs should go to every house and update the voter list. Sudarshan Reddy also said that if people want to make changes or additions to their voter IDs, they should be helped by providing them with the necessary forms. He told the officials that any laxity in the conduct of elections will not work.
