Telangana Weather Alert: Districts to Face More Thunderstorms

Telangana Weather Alert: Hyderabad and some of Telangana’s districts can expect more thunderstorms this week, with Hyderabad MET Department forecasting active storm activity until May 25. Rain pounded the city overnight on Monday, with lightning and gusty winds, hitting most parts.

Rainfall Statistics and Hit Areas
According to Telangana State Development Society (TSDPS), there are various locations in Hyderabad that witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday’s early morning and last night. Some intensities of falls of rains are as shown below:

Old Sultan Nagar, Balanagar – 30.5 mm

These rains brought relief from the scorching summer sun, but waterlogging and congestion on roads were also caused to some areas in the city.

Weather Forecast and Temperature Outlook
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorms will continue occurring intermittently at Hyderabad and its surrounding districts. The maximum temperature will continue at 37°C and 39°C with cloudiness and spotty gusty winds.

In the next 48 hours, Hyderabad will experience light to moderate rain and misty mornings. People are requested to be careful, especially during the active storm period, as lightning and strong winds are risky.

Safety Precautions and Measures
The government has asked people to take measures such as:

Not going out in the event of thunderstorms.

Securing loose items so that damage due to gusty winds does not take place.

Being in touch with weather indications via reliable sources.
