Terrorist Attack In America: Two employees of the Israeli embassy in the US capital, Washington, were brutally murdered. Israeli authorities described the shooting incident that took place near the Jewish Museum on Wednesday night as a terrorist attack against Jews. The FBI and local police are jointly investigating. Israel has expressed strong protest at the United Nations over the incident. The US and Israeli authorities are taking the case seriously.
Two employees of the Israeli embassy in the United States were brutally murdered. They were shot dead by assailants near the Jewish Museum in the capital, Washington, DC, on Wednesday night. The two lost their lives. Israeli officials described the incident as a “hateful terrorist attack against Jews.” Hamas is believed to have carried out the shooting in response to Israel’s attacks in Gaza. However, it is noteworthy that the incident took place just a few steps away from the FBI’s Washington field office. US Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noam confirmed this on ‘X’ (Twitter). She said that a full investigation into the incident is underway and that federal and local police departments are investigating together.
FBI Director Kash Patel, who is of Indian descent, said in a statement, “We have received information about a shooting outside the Jewish Museum. We are working with the police to investigate. We extend our condolences to the families of the victims.”
The Israeli embassy confirmed the incident but did not disclose the names of its employees. It only said that the Israeli ambassador was not present at the time of the attack. An event was taking place at the museum at the time of the shooting. According to local media reports, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) was hosting an event at the Capital Jewish Museum, which opened in 2023. Museum CEO Ted Deutsch said, “It is heartbreaking to see such horrific violence take place outside our venue.”
US Attorney General Pam Bondi and Washington DC Acting Attorney Jeanine Pirro are reportedly at the scene. In a social media post, Pam Bondi said, “We are taking action at the federal level and will provide full information to the public soon.” Meanwhile, shooting incidents are common in America. There have been many cases where Indian students have also lost their lives in gunfire. It is known that a father and daughter from India were killed in the shootings that took place in March.
