Mahakumbh 2025: 66 Crore Pilgrims, Rs 3 Lakh Crore Transactions

The Dark Side of Mahakumbh 2025: The Maha Kumbh 2025 concluded with the last bath on Mahashivratri in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. About 66 crore devotees took a dip in the Sangam. Sadhus and saints have also left for their destination. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were praised for organizing the fair. Some saints are performing rituals for the peace of the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident in the Mahakumbh area.


Mahakumbh 2025 concluded after the Mahashivratri bath. It is considered to be the world’s largest spiritual, religious and cultural gathering. About 66 crore devotees took a dip in faith in the Sangam. Lakhs of sadhus and saints also participated in the Mahakumbh. Saints stayed on the sands of Sangam from Paush Purnima to Basant Panchami. Some saints also stayed till Mahashivratri. Saints praised Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi for organizing the Mahakumbh.

Spiritual Significance and Rituals

Maha Kumbh 2025 saw millions of devotees taking the holy dip at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers meet. The participation of all 13 Akharas added to the event’s grandeur with their age-old rituals, processions, and religious discourses. The Kinnar Akhara, linked with the Juna Akhara, stood out for its representation of inclusivity in spiritual traditions.


All of them were present there from the first Shahi Snan to the third Shahi Snan. Many saints stayed till Mahashivratri. They appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi. Saints praised the divinity, grandeur and novelty of Mahakumbh.

Economic Impact and Employment

The festival played a crucial role in boosting Uttar Pradesh’s economy, generating an estimated revenue of Rs 54,000 crore. Approximately 60 lakh people benefited from direct and indirect employment opportunities in tourism, hospitality, transportation, and local trade. The influx of visitors drove demand for accommodations, food services, and religious merchandise to unprecedented levels.

Saint Vijay Prakash Bharti Ji Maharaj said that this yagya and Rudrabhishek will continue for Lord Shiva and Mother Ganga Ghat throughout the night.
