India-Pakistan Ceasefire:
After four days of intense fighting, India and Pakistan agreed to stop all hostilities on land, air, and sea. The announcement of a full ceasefire came unexpectedly through a social media post by US President Donald Trump. He shared that the peace deal was reached after overnight talks mediated by the United States. Soon after, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the agreement.
However, despite the ceasefire, tensions continued in parts of India. On Saturday night, drone sightings were reported in Jammu and Kashmir. Explosions followed, raising fears of renewed conflict. The Indian army responded by activating air defence systems to intercept the drones.
Blackouts were reimposed across several states, especially in Punjab and Gujarat, as a precautionary measure. Power was restored in some areas like Amritsar, but red alerts remained. Residents were asked to stay indoors and avoid windows.
In Gujarat’s Kutch district and Rajasthan’s Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, blackouts were enforced again due to drone activity. In Jammu’s Nagrota, a soldier was injured while confronting a suspicious individual near a military station.
While India accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire, Islamabad claimed it was committed to the truce and blamed India for the disturbance. Despite the tension, flights at Delhi Airport continued normally, though tighter security checks were announced.
