In the early hours of April 21, across Tripura, there was heavy rain. Due to this, almost 400 to 450 houses are damaged(Fully, partially, and in some parts, this has been affected severely). According to local sources, the electricity connection has been cut off, and around 50 poles have been damaged due to heavy rains.
Overflowing Rivers:
Major rivers flowing from Tripura have overflowed. Rivers like Gomati, Muhuri, and Feni are flowing below the flood level as of now. It is expected that this is going to rise in a few hours or a few days.
Weather Report:
According to the weather analysis, north eastern regions like Sikkim, Assam, and Tripura are going to face heavy rains due to the enhanced circulation patterns. It is also reported that the southern part of India is expected to face moderate rains. States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are going to face moderate rains in the interiors of the states.

Electricity Cut-Off:
Significant power outages were reported by Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), mostly in Agartala city, Udaipur, and Kailashahar. In other locations, overhead electricity wires were severed and transformers were damaged by lightning strikes and falling trees. Although emergency repair teams have been sent out, restoration efforts are still in progress and may take longer in remote areas.
Power was cut out for several hours in Agartala, the capital city, in areas including Ramnagar, Krishnanagar, and Indranagar, which inconvenienced locals and interfered with communication systems.
Injured People:
According to the government reports, the injured have been identified as Nayan Kumar Tripura (70) and Rumati Tripura (39). They are identified as from the locals of the Karbook area of the state’s Gomati District.
