Uppal-Medipally Flyover Set to open in Just 10 Months

On Monday, May 5, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, officially opened the Amberpet flyover. After the inauguration, Mr. Gadkari promised that the long-delayed Uppal-Medipally elevated flyover will be finished in the next eight to ten months during a public meeting at Amberpet GHMC Grounds.


Uppal-Medipally Flyover:

The minister acknowledged the difficulties that have beset the Uppal project and promised to cooperate with the Telangana administration to accelerate the remaining work. “We are confident of overcoming the last obstacles and finishing this project soon with the State’s support,” he stated.


Highways double, travel time Shorter:

The Union Minister highlighted Telangana’s major infrastructure progress, noting that the State has expanded its national highways from 2,511 km in 2014 to over 5,000 km. He emphasized the need for top-notch connectivity in Hyderabad, calling it a city of innovation and knowledge. Authorities are planning access-controlled roads to connect Hyderabad with all major cities across Telangana. “Very soon, you’ll be able to reach Hyderabad from anywhere in the State within five hours,” he said.

LB Nagar to Malkapur Road Update:

Additionally, he provided updates on the ₹545 crore, 75% finished LB Nagar to Malkapur section six-laning project. The majority of the 23 km stretch’s construction is ongoing on footpaths, service roads, small bridges, and road widening. He mentioned international cities like Madrid as examples of replicable models, including double-decker flyovers and underground parking systems, and announced the launch of the Northern section of Hyderabad’s Regional Ring Road (RRR), a 162-kilometer stretch to be developed at a cost of ₹16,000 crore.
