Viral Video: Man Attempts Acid Attack on 5-Year-Old Girl In Gujarat

Acid Attack on 5-Year-Old: Last week, A 5-year-old girl was badly wounded by a horrifying acid attack in a shop in Gir Somnath, Gujarat. The incident became a big topic of discussion on social media as CCTV footage of the attack went viral.

Breathtaking Assault

As per reports, a man entered the petty shop which is surrounded by a number of other men, and suddenly without warning he threw something possibly acid towards a man who apparently was the owner of the shop and was sitting on a chair, but neither was lucky with that. The corrosive liquid splashed on a little girl who was standing there.

The young girl suffered several injuries to her body, but fortunately none appear to be serious. Witnesses jumped in and stopped the suspect from leaving the area. Previously, reports indicated that local citizens took law into their own hands and brought the suspect to the police.

Causes of the Attack

Earlier reports seem to rattle quite well: the accused had a fight with the shopkeeper over the refusal of goods on credit, and thereby anger caused him to return to the shop for an acid attack. Unfortunately, the innocent girl had to be at the receiving end of this misdeed.

CCTV footage of the on-shoot spread like wildfire, setting off an outpouring of anger and sorrow. One commentator on it stated, “This makes me cry. How can people be so evil?” Others also suggested tougher penalties for the attacker and milder laws against acid crimes.

While investigations are continuing, the officials have given assurances that he will be made to confront the judiciary in a serious way. The medical treatment was accorded to the girl and she is said to feel better now.
