Want To Attend A Unknown Wedding? There’s An App For That

Want To Attend A Unknown Wedding? There’s An App For That

Weddings are special, but they’re expensive. Most couples cannot pay for every aspect of their wedding day. Now a startup, in Paris called Invitin, offers an interesting solution.

Strangers Can Now Buy Wedding Tickets

Invitin allows couples to sell tickets to strangers to attend their wedding. The strangers can purchase one or more tickets to join the celebration (and they lower costs to the couple as well). Tickets range in cost from €150 (₹15,353) to €400 (₹40,941) per person.

Strangers, who love weddings but don’t get invited to many, are excited to attend. Like any guest, they get to enjoy the food, musicians, and good time happy moments.

How The Idea Arose

The founder of Invitin – Katia Lekarski – trained for the idea earlier this year. Katia was renting her home in southern France to guests who came for weddings. One day her daughter asked her: “Why aren’t we invited to weddings?” That innocent question motivated Katia to create a new business.

Formerly a fashion model, Katia became an entrepreneur launching the company, after previously ran her own brand for children’s interior goods.

Why Others Want to Attend A Stranger’s Wedding

A lot of people enjoy weddings but wasn’t never invited to many, so they miss the party. Invitin provides a way for people to see a new culture, food, and wedding traditions.

They get to meet people, enjoy dancing, and feel part of a celebratory occasion. Lekarski said a lot of people find it to be a nice and fun way of socializing.
Some people also like seeing the wedding set up, and getting ideas for their own future wedding plans.

Couples Also Find Meaning Beyond Money

A French couple, Jennifer (48) and Paulo (50), used Invitin for their wedding. They invited 95 families and friends as well as 5 strangers who paid to attend.

Jennifer said they reviewed the profiles of the guests before approving them. Jennifer indicated that did the money isn’t everything but it sure did help. It covered small expenses like decorations or her wedding dress.

Jennifer described themselves as being open, extroverted and do love sharing. Because of that they thought it was a fun idea and they thought it was a nice

opportunity to meet new people. For them it wasn’t about the money but about making sure they had a special day.

Conclusion

Invitin has taken strangers and couples and connected them in a unique way. It has diminished the costs of weddings and added to some unique memories for both parties. This concept may change how we perceive weddings in the future.
