A string of attacks on Tesla vehicles and properties happened in several parts of the US. This comes as a backlash against Elon Musk. Close to 40 Tesla vehicles were burnt, and several properties damaged. The damage is estimated to be between $2 million and $4 million. Following numerous Tesla attacks, US President Donald Trump warned those involved in vandalism. He said the saboteurs and those funding it would face up to 20 years in jail. “People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years, and that includes the funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU,” Trump posted via Truth Social.

The targeted attack involves Teslas being burnt, charging stations set on fire, gunshots, and graffiti slogans like ‘Nazi’ or ‘Resist’ sprayed on cars. These incidents happened in Las Vegas, Colorado, Oregon, Colorado, Massachusetts, Canada, and Germany. It looks like a direct attack and protest of Elon Musk’s policies, calling for boycotts. Although there’s no concrete evidence, Elon Musk slammed George Soros or left-wing organisations behind these attacks.
Elon Musk is a close associate of Donald Trump. Since Trump took office as President this year, Elon became as a prominent figure in Trump’s administration. He is co-leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This department intends to cut federal spending and increase its efficiency.
These Tesla attacks and property damage appear to result from anger over Elon Musk’s political involvement and growing influence in the Trump government.
While the investigation is still ongoing, the attacks on Teslas appear to be a political backlash against Musk’s growing role in Donald Trump’s government.
